Where to watch wildlife near Bengaluru

Southern India has some of the country’s most rewarding reserves, and several sit within easy reach of the city. Close by, Bannerghatta offers a quick nature day. Accommodation and inclusions differ noticeably between reserves. A stay like Kabini often bundles the riverside lodge, all meals, a boat and a jeep safari with a naturalist, and the entry and permit fees, while transport between cities is usually arranged separately on request. Will we definitely see a tiger or elephant?

No responsible operator can promise that — sightings depend on the animals, the season and a good deal of luck. Elephants, deer and gaur are seen often; big cats are a bonus. We improve your chances with well-timed safaris, but we never guarantee a sighting.

Are safari permits and entry included?

It varies by reserve. Some lodge packages include the safari and entry fees; others arrange them separately, because slots are released by the forest department and can sell out or close. Each package spells out what is covered, and we confirm availability as part of planning.

Is a wildlife trip suitable for children and older travellers?

Generally yes — the lodges are comfortable and the safaris are seated drives or boat rides rather than strenuous walks. Early starts are part of the experience, so we plan the pace to suit your group and mention any reserve with longer travel or rougher tracks.
