The trek to the heart-shaped lake is a moderate 2 hour climb. Chembra summit beyond is currently restricted by the Forest Department.

Is Wayanad safe in the monsoon?
Yes. Wayanad is spectacular in monsoon (June–Sept) though some treks like Chembra may close on heavy rain days.
Can we spot wildlife?
Wayanad has a wildlife sanctuary (Muthanga/Tholpetty) — safaris can be added on request. Basic sightings include deer, bison and langurs.
